USING OLD CLOTHES TO INVEST IN THE YOUNG

Our partnership with e-THREAD provides a unique way to deliver benefit to the community while solving an ever-growing environmental issue. Textiles are re-used to divert them from landfill and the proceeds help The Sebastian Foundation fund schools to use the Open Parachute youth mental health program.

You donate your pre-loved clothing, and we'll invest in creating resilient and confident kids who can grow to be their best. Win win!

e-THREAD works with landowners who 'donate' the space that the bin sits on, for the community to fill the bin with their pre-loved textiles. e-THREAD then repurposes the bin contents and pays The Sebastian Foundation a weekly amount per bin, which then funds schools in that community to use the Open Parachute program.

On average, proceeds from each bin will put over 100 students through the program each year. That’s equivalent to 4 entire classes.

It's a beautiful example of a circular economy. We're working with forward-thinking companies such as Ampol and Woolworths and a growing number of schools. Campbelltown City Council, NSW now has almost 20 sites in their LGA, leading the way for other councils to follow, and we thank Campbeltown Mayor George Greiss for his foresight and genuine passion for youth mental health.

e-THREAD works to a zero-waste ethos and also collects any non-textile waste illegally dumped beside the bins. They forward this to other suppliers to re-use, again diverting these materials from landfill. Click here to find out more about e-THREAD's processes.

So, keep an eye out for a bin near you and do your bit for community ... while freeing up some wardrobe space!

Reach out if you are an organisation or council with one square metre of spare land and help us to give back to your community at no cost to your business.
