2016 Carols in the City 2016 raises over $100,000
On December 16, 2016, The Sebastian Foundation staged our major fundraiser, the fourth MYER Carols in the City event. The Foundation started with a goal to raise $100,000 and are thrilled to announce that the total amount raised on the evening is $101,887.49.
The funds were raised by sponsorships, donations, ticket, merchandise and auction sales and will allow us to further the mission of The Sebastian Foundation to provide a little bit of the warmth and benefit of family where it might be missing through underpriviledge, serious illness or domestic violence.
Specifically these funds will be used to support refurbishing shelters for women escaping domestic violence, giving them a place to feel comfortable, valued and cared for while they are in an extremely vulnerable state.
Thank you to everyone who helped us to achieve this fundraising result including our sponsors MYER, Freedom Kitchens, Green Options, Canon Australia, Air Asia, Bockers & Pony, Moa Beer, and The Lane Vineyard.
To our amazing performers who each donated their time Paulini, Sam Moran, Jess and Matt, Mark Vincent, Chynna Taylor, Chris Sebastian, Reece Mastin, Matt Gresham, Carmen Smith, Gary Pinto, kids from the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, the Mount Druitt choir and Heidi Cameron and her amazing Christmas elves. Also to the inimitable Dave Eastgate aka The Grinch.
Special thanks also to Bronwyn Keller photography for her pics of the evening.
